I'm thinking about the 22/250 as a foxing round. Does anyone here use it for foxes and care to share their experience. was thinking a CZ american beded in this stock

also ammo prices and what you found good.

    Thanks

Cheaper ammo than Swift other than that one equally as good as the other ............ apparently

Have you considered a 223, cheaper ammo and they do the job on foxes out to a good distance. I have one and like it but am upgrading to a stalking caliber soon.

If you already have a 223, I'd hang on to it tbh.

My mate uses a sako 85 22-250 on varmints with 50 grain v max, really good varmint calibre, the best shot I seen him make with it was 590 yards on a greycrow !-highly reccomended;)

Nice round to shoot. Only ever shot it on targets, but the ballistics are superb and I'd gladly have it as a foxing gun.

Yeah Bunny, thinking of trading her in, I've had a .223 for a few years now and can't fault it, but I just fancied a change, so why not !!

Foxshooter, I've heard good reports about the v-max alright.

Seen what you can do with that CZ :) Sure ya wanna get rid of it ?

Although 250 has a very good rep as a varmint calibre both in UK and US

Thanks Bunny (note to self - Bunny being nice = Danger!Danger!)

Just fancy a change, Probably regret it later but what the heck:rolleyes:

i was going to get one for vermin myself but when i inquired about getting one the firearms officer said the super wouldnt allow it as its a deer hunting caliber. went all out then and got deer permit and a 308. does your super allow them as vermin rifle and how/what do you do to get one.
ps saw them stocks on a site from america.........beautiful work

Top class photo bunny, I see you even dressed up.

Mind you with bunnies like that I think I'd rather a .308!!!

As far as my FO was concerned, and I know a lot of people would agree with him , a 22/250 is a varminting round and not enough for deer. he reckoned it would just swap over.

lucky you.......nice power and cheaper than swift. if only more supers could take the blinkers off and issue them for vermin to more of us
never mind the mixey........i think bunny has rabies:D:D

If its just a swap over and requires no deer license and you fancy a change then why not. The most off putting thing for me trading in the 223 is the thought of having to go through the hassle of getting another license.
A mate has a 22-250 for deer and fox and likes it. Says its a good flat shooter but can be affected badly by the wind if its any help.

More inconsistencies in the licensing regime - I was able to change my .22LR license to a .22/250 no problem once I told the Super I needed to upgrade for foxes! He was one of those coppers who thinks a .22 is .22 is a .22.......:D
