Been out on my usual route a few times over the last week stalking expecting that there would be plenty deer out since the fields are finally green again!yet i have not seen 1 nor fresh tracks even!they got a bad doing with at least 6 inches of snow up there so i'm surprised they are not taking every opportunity to get out into the grass.

Also went for a spin up there last week with the lamp and they were in nearly every field so its not as if they have been all shot!and just to clear things up i took no gun with me while i lamped them!was only interested to see what numbers were up there i'm dead against shooting deer at night!!

Is every else finding them hard to come across?

be careful there lads it illegal to lamp deer without a sec 42 license even without a gun.especially under the current climate the power that be would love an excuse to take your firearms, sometimes I have seen deer when lamping foxes but would not shoot them unless I had 42 license dont want to sound like a spoil sport

ahh lamping deer just takes the sport out of it,plus its illegal!much more enjoyable to sneak up on them in the daylight.i do lamp foxes but wouldnt touch a deer at night!

thanks for that info meathshooter i taut that going up with just a lamp and no gun atal would keep me within the law!
