Rapha want to charge me €15 for shipping on a small item. I know you buy into ass-reaming with Rapha, but this is a violation too far for me.

Anyone found an alternate source? Have Googled, but can only find it for sale in the US.

Thanks for that, but I'm looking for somewhere that doesn't charge comedy prices for delivery. Only one of those sites has what I want, and want to charge 25 sterling for delivery.

    I never liked lube anyway.

Drop them a mail. Suggest to them that were it not for the crazy charging policy you would indeed purchase their fine merchandise.
If th waive this or send you a discount code that you will go ahead with your purchase.

I have tried this in the past and it succeeded.

Alternatively ifyou wait a few weeks I should be getting a free shipping voucher when the new spring summer range catalogue ia out.

Only way to buy from Rapha is
    1 clearance sales
    2 discount vouchers
    3 both.

If you can get option three their merchandise goes from being ridiculously overpriced to being merely decent value.

If you're not willing to pay a mere €15 in postage then you're obviously not Rapha material.

You might find something more appropriate here.

Too right. It's certainly cheaper than flying one's equerry over to pick it up in person.

@ROK ON splendid idea, will give that a try. May get back to you on the shipping thing, could share a delivery perchance.

@Gavin not about cost per se, but dignity. Even a crack-ho has her limits.

You might be lucky on ebay

Just re-reading the fluff for the €270 Classic Softshell Jacket.

I'm intrigued. Anyone admit to having one of these? What's the story?

It also features "a bite grip on the collar", presumably for when you're reading your credit card bill.
No other bit of kit has done five hours training in the snow and a trip to the pub in the same week. I think that speaks volumes for its form and function.

I think that speaks volumes about how people who buy Rapha can't afford any other clothes.

I'm beginning to suspect that Rapha is actually a loss-making subsidiary of Assos kept in business to make the Assos stuff look good value.

I've a couple of pair of socks bought from ebay (the UK not the Irish site).

I aspire to one of the jerseys but unless I win the lottery that's as far as I'll go with them.

Nice stuff and a cool site, but there's an awful lot of sh1te written about the kit!

@Lumen. I actually have the lightweight version of that jacket.
Ironically the story asks what to do when it is horrible out. The answer is to take a leaf out of Sean Kelly book and just head out (wearing said jacket of course).

The irony is that I can't imagine that Kelly ever threw a rapha cape over his shoulder when weighing up the merits of training in the Belgian or Irish winter

Hi. Just a follow up for Lukester (and whomever else is interested).

I have 2 Rapha discount vouchers. Both expire next week. One is personal to me so cant be used in general. One a 20% voucher and one is a 10% voucher but only for Certain gear.

Anyway, I will probably put in an order next week for something ridiculously priced. Let me know if anyone wants to tag along.
