Just putting up a poll as I'm curious to see what's the average age of airsofters.
I would have thought it was in the 30s but looking at another few posts around it looks like a lot of under 18s play...

damn you..making me feel old :o

You'd get a good idea from the Census thread with 220+ replies. But I agree with your point that on boards anyway it appears to be mainly 18 and under. When it first started I think it was mainly in the mid-late 20s group, at a guess.

yeah..i was reading that alright..that's where i noticed how young a few of them were..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

It started to make me feel old aswell and I'm just 24. Had to step back and take a look at myself at times.:D

Looking at the poll, it's great to see all our community 15-18 year olds are in school today.;D

ah yes..I was wondering where they were :D

lads we are only as old as the enemy we are shootin so keep them pairly young and iv noticed here in galway there is a few under 18 we have 2 on our team but generally the average would be mid to late 20s there is even a guy that plays in urban extreme regulary who is in his 70 hes a real life rambo:D

Age does not matter (I keep telling myself) :D
Waiting for 3.30 - 4pm when all the younger Air/Chairsofters here fill in that poll.

One main reason that the people actively playing would be older is due to the effective cost of all the gear. Jobs and careers help pay the money pit:D

Just checking , but does the OP want to know our physical age or our mental age.
    i.e. 39/19

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Leftyflip

I was a bit suprised, when I see guys under 18, playing airsoft. Here in Bulgaria is forbiden to play airsoft or to buy a RIF if you are under 18. But there is no restriction in the power of the weapon. Of course, we have make some unoficial restriction on how powerfull weapon you can use, in particular type of game, i.e. open areas, buildings, forest.

But in the end of the day, who cares. The fun factor is more important.:D

Would probably be higher if more teenagers didn't spend all their money buying €1 cans from Tesco with every spare euro they have:pac:

Harsh!!! And any its 6 for a fiver in dunnes!!!;)

Seriously though I only got into airsoft this year and I have already converted some of my friends! There are loads of people into airsoft in my school and I only found that out by accident.

The money and lc are my big constraints also my fondness of a good party!! :)
Hopefully a summer job can feed my addiction!!!

Don't forget to take into account the age range of the users here which seem to be at the younger end of the scale & will probably tilt the results in that direction.
