How do you tell the difference between these, I've seen some of these clones and they look identical there being sold on ebay but i have been offered a new 3g iphone for good money but how do you tell if its a clone or not?

Just luck at the specs and you should know which is dodgy. Check the spec against the spec on apple websites.

You're meeting him in person, yeah?

If you're in Dublin (no plans this weekend) I don't mind popping in along with you to check it out. You don't want a fake iPhone. they break after a few weeks, apparently.

Cheers Banquo thats very kind of you :D

Good to see there is some decent people still out der :D
Just browsing on o2's site and I'm thinking of getting a brand new one, 3g €100 on billpay.. 40 a month thereafter for 18months, should I go for it? Just wondering what the costs are while travelling as I am thinking of heading off to spain to work for the summer so I could be caught on that one.. Dont fancy paying for something I cant use..

I'm not sure if there are any roaming problems. I will offer this advice:

    1. Wait until vodaphone have the iPhone. Then you'll be able to compare deals. They'll be pretty much the same, but one might be tweaked more to your own preferences.

    2. Wait until summer. There's a whole new line of iPhone due (quite possible it'll be announced the 27th of Jan, 9 days!) and it'd suck to spend that cash and have 'last year's' model. Also, the model you want will be cheaper. :)

PM me with meetup details if you're still going ahead with this deal. Though e200 isn't a crazy cheap price for a 2nd hand iPhone 3G.

Yeah good points made there.. and also he said it was 3Gs not 3G sorry about that my mistake..
And the thing is i'm in dire need of a new phone as mine is really on its very last legs so I dont know what to do now :P :o .. With o2, how long roughly would the 1gb limit last?

AGES. You won't hit the limit unless you're watching 9 hours of YouTube a day. Seriously though, most people don't even hit half that with regular use. You'd need to be up to crazy stuff to come even near the limit.

Simple thing to remember - if the price is to good to be true well then its a fake!
