    Hey guys.

I'm working on a project at the minute for my portfolio for college and as an assignment for my plc course.

I'm doing a set of portraits on the theme "Alice in Wonderland". I've done one set of shots so far in a studio set up for the "Mad Hatter" and was hoping to get some C&C from you all :) Thanks in advance!

All I can say is I really like this, that cheeky grin, the crazy hair.

Definitely has an Irish twist to it..

Good but for some reason the lower left quarter of the pic that's in black gives me a headache about two inches from the front and left part of my brain.

Too much digital black on the left perhaps?

not really feeling it. Im only feeling the colours really, they look well.

I think the lightings way too harsh. I much prefare working with a strobe off to the side myself so i can relate to the shot.

Obviously its on the right of the subject. Have you thought about putting another strobe in there, back and front right? It will give it a bit more dimension. You could outline the hat and shoulder better imo.

lower the power and defuse the front light alot more also. That shine on the cheek is too much of a distraction for me. If the light was softer and covering a bit more of the subject you would get a better fall off (like on the gloves).

for me the chin is too dark, lacks the nice outline that the hat has.

i'd also like to see the eye socket lit up a little more and the overall saturation reduced

Great idea and costume but its slightly too dark for me.. Have you any versions just a stop or two brighter?

Hi all, Thank you for all the C&C so far :) Nice to know im doing something right lol.

In terms of the left side being too dark, its kind of what i was going for with the image. Though I do get what yous are saying about leaving in some of the left side of the face instead of complete darkness.

I've redone the PP so theres a faint outline on the left side of the face and not as saturated to see if i'd like it and to be honest i'm not sure. I'm not getting the same feeling I want from it. though, i'm gonna post it to see what yous think.
Again, thanks a million for all the C&C so far :)

Now we are being distracted by the faint detail on the left hand side of the photo. The original was better.

to be awkward, id say right inbetween the two of them would be the shot. Looks good

The cheek on the right didnt distract you with the op?
