Am thinking about renting an RV in Las Vegas and doing a three week trip around California in sept. This this trip two years ago via car.

Anyone have any experience renting rv's over in the states? Any tips on what to look out for?

I have no idea about camping parks/fee's/rules etc so I would appreciate any info on that as well.

There would be 4 of us on this trip.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,

Me and 4 of my friends did this trip 2 years ago on the east coast. Hardest part was trying to get a 5 person RV that would rent to a 23 year old driver. We used EL monte RV.

And had no problems with them whatsoever.
Make sure that you and your friends get a kitty together for camping site fees and toll roads , petrol etc...
We thought we could save money by just pulling in on the side of the road and sleeping there, however it gets very stuffy inside so we always chose a campsite with electric hook up for A/C.
Also, they make you pay for how many 1,000 miles you wish to cover so try plan your stops in advance.

It was the best holiday i've ever had! Just remember that you cannot do enough planning!!

Oh, and we bought a satnav after day 2 so i'd recommend one as well.

    Best of luck,

    JPS
