    Dear all,

I have 1970s Fender Strat that is in need of some care and attention. Pick ups are buzzing, input for the jack needs looked at, intonation is screwed, fretboard needs some touch up work, that sort of thing. Can anyone recommend somebody for these type of repairs? I'm willing to travel a wee bit out of Belfast if necessary.

There are a couple of highly recommended luthiers/ guitar techs in Pete Griffin and Dennis Curry (Lisburn area/ Portadown respectively) but if I was you I'd drop in to Bairds on York Street and speak to the guys in there. Its the only "old fashioned" guitar store left and they know their stuff. Friendly guys and will certainly sort you out. Think they use Pete Griffin for most of their set up/ guitar work anyway.

I'm not affiliated by the way!

    Chuffola,

Thanks very much for the info. I will give Bairds a try - sounds like the right sort of place; the other places in town don't instil me with much confidence!
