    Hey,
Have been recovering from disk tear over the last week and touch wood it is well on the mend. This surprises me as it only happended five days ago.
Just wondering does anyone have any knowledge as to wheather your body recovers quicker from injuries the fitter you are?

Lumbar disc injuries take anywhere from 18 months to 10 years to fully heal. That doesn't mean a patient will necessarily be in pain for that amount of time, but it's important for patients to be aware that once the pain is gone, the disc is not going to be back to 100% strength anytime soon.

Discs in the back have nearly no blood supply, which is the greatest limiting factor for healing time. It's also important to remove or change bad habits that increase the strain on the disc, otherwise healing time will be delayed, or the injury will continue to get worse.

The steps someone takes to getting rid of the problem would be much more relevant than the person's overall fitness level in these sorts of cases.
