New Bike - Any Recommendations ?

    Hi All,

Taking the plunge on a new bike (with help of the bike scheme) and wondered if anyone could recommend something in the 1000 - 1400 (max) range? This is going to have to last me a few years so want to get the best I can for that money.

I have a Giant SCR2.0 at the moment ... cycle roughly 100-150kms a week in winter and 200 - 300kms in summer. Planning to ride in a couple of the cycles like Wicklow200, Sean Kelly.

I'm fairly new to cycling and struggle with hill climbing so the triple on the GiantSCR really helps. I was looking at the new Giant's and Treks today but once people start talking about components and group sets I get confused .. still a lot to learn.

    Appreciate any ideas/recommendations ..

I have just bought a Focus Cayo from wiggle.co.uk , full carbon fibre, shimano 105's all round, €997 incl; delivery. I am very pleased with it and would definately recommend.

If you can get it on the Bike to Work scheme the Planet X is the best value at the moment. Wiggle also have some good deals on discounted 2009 road bikes.
