    name games that you have played pre 2000 that you would recommend now that would stand the test of time and appeal to a younger audience
    as a pc user Half Life and Deus come to mind but give us name of a game on your console/OS of choice

    super mario bros 3 - NES


    in fact most mario games imo all class and made gaming so popular!

    Don't know about this bit. Kids today seem to be pretty shallow.

    Anyway, I did a lot of PC gaming in the 90's.

    System Shock 1
    Freespace 1/2
    Ultima Underworld 1/2
    Thief
    Master Of Orion
    Every lucasarts adventure game (monkey island series, loom, grim fandango)
    Sierra adventure games (space quest, kings quest - I can imagine these games would be good for teaching typing too)

    I could go on forever.
