I'm after buying one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/LargeImage.aspx?ModelID=42980&FileName=42980.jpg

I thought I was getting a strap that goes all the way around your leg but this thing is only 6 inches long or so. Am I right in thinking that the smaller piece goes onto your boot via the laces and the larger piece goes onto the binding?

Correct. I have a similar one, with the same bigger loop on one end (which I attach to the binding) and a metal clip on the other (which I attach to the laces). Not sure how exactly the velcro part attaches but I'd be pretty sure it's for the laces end.

Not many people use them lately sure enough, but if you've seen a board tearing down a mountain at full pelt and levelling a load of kids at the bottom, you'll get the reason why! It goes without saying that you attach to your front foot.

Good call on chain reaction cycles by the way, very good website. I just bought bindings from there, posted South for free at North prices! :D

There's no velcro, just a smaller loop. I'll post a pic maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, I don't want my board to cause anyone else injury and for €5 there's no reason not to have one.

It was recommended to me by a poster on here. I was looking for a stomp pad and they had a good selection.
