Gay people who you wouldn't think are gay

A lot of people who are gay, look and act gay, which is what you would expect.
But every now and then you hear of a gay person who you'd never guess could be gay......

The one that really shocked me was the Welsh rugby player, I think Gareth Thomas is his name, he neither looks gay nor camp, and he's not afraid of risking his body in a rugby tackle

Another one that shocked me a few years ago was Stephen Fry, he doesnt look or act camp in my view

And then of course there are people who are not gay, who look gay, there are a few in this category too.

I wonder what proportion of gay people look completely not gay ?

Eh...who decides what a gay person looks like? Not all gay people are camp. And not all camp people are gay.

Think somebody is buying a bit too much into stereotypes.

    Like all Irish are alcos.

    Oh, wait a min...

Very nazi-esque/close-minded way of thinking; that all gay people should go around wearing pink, lisping, mincing and being camp in general. That they should be blatantly obvious the minute you see them...

    i get that a lot...

my ex broke up with me because she thought i was gay... actually it was her mother that asked first. she pulled me to one side during her cousins wedding and asked whether I was gay because i was complimenting some people on their outfits at the reception.

that annnd i have a tendancy to prance around.

PS: I'm not gay, but people think I am. Complete opposite of the subject, but hey :P

How in the name of George Michael's hot pants is what he said "Nazi-esque"? That's Godwining for the sake of Godwining.

Pighead was shocked when he heard Ryan Tubridy was gay. Although not as shocked as when he found out Aoibheann Ni Shuilleabhain was a bloke.

I didn't know he was gay until my girlfriend told me about a year ago. I also didn't know the actor who plays Niles in Frasier was gay too.

    Gaydar, I has none.

And Tubridy, and Derek Mooney, have me suspicions about Marty Whealan too. He even has the Freddy Mercury tache. Rule of thumb: If a man doesn't have it in him to kill ya or get killed himself trying, then he's not a full man:cool:

What about the other way round?

I only found out recently that "Fronk' from Frank's weddings is actually married with kids and stuff. He's as camp as Christmas

martin in frasier is also gay (frasiers dad btw)

I think the OP might subscribe to the Homer Simpson school of "I like my beer cold, my TV loud and my homosexuals flaming."

Sucks to know that them darn gays might be sneakily turning you gay with their gayness without you knowing, doesn't it?

I had to laugh at that scene in V For Vendetta where Fry
brings Natalie Portman down to his basement so he can show her his forbidden underground sex-dungeon full of porn and S&M gear
    .

Portman (and the Audience) is supposed to be surprised by such a revelation from this mild-mannered, erudite scholar. However I was just thinking "Tip of the Iceberg, tip of the iceberg"

I thought these two blokes were just having a dance and was later shocked to find out that they were in fact gay.

Looking back, the rainbow colours should have been a clue.

What gay man wouldn't like to roll around a pitch with 29 other men? I mean what could be more gay then rugby?

Most of the gay men I know aren't all that camp, they may occasionally come out with some queenie comments buts its generally in a jokey way. The only reason a person may think that gay are all camp is because they stand out more.

    Same :(

My mate said it to me the other day. "You know, I thought you were a queer when I first met you". My best mate's sister and mom think it too. My mom did/might still aswell.

    I don't get what it is. :/

yeah, i can imagine those wandering hands in the scrum. he must of found it so hard not to stare in the dressing rooms and he must have had a constant hard-on.
apparently, thats something they look out for in sports. if a guy gets a boner in the showers/dressing room, hes kicked off the team

Surely the biggest Gay shocker was Rock Hudson, screen idol loved by women everywhere, it was a major shock at the time, lots of people muttering 'What's the world coming to' under their breath when that one came out in the open.
