Good to hear courses opening up again. Hopefully by next weekend everywhere will be back up and running. Am sure some courses will have a problem with flooding once the snow melts.

I'm booked in for Sunday (Blarney, Cork)...first game in months. Here's hoping.

Bodenstown is open but that doesn't surprise me

Our club hoped to open on Friday but are now hoping for tomorrow, Sunday. Even then they say they are pessimistic. Ground is thawed at surface for maybe 4 inches but frozen to 12-14 inches in total. Result is rain and melt water sitting in that top four inches and therefore easy to damage greens.

Had a tee time booked in Killeen for Saturday morning but the course was closed due to flooding.

Got out in Bodenstown (Ladyhill) instead was completely waterlogged but still great to get out swinging a club again, hopefully back to normal everywhere this weekend

Playing in a fourball on Sunday morning... www.metcheck.com isn't giving the forcast to be nearly as bad as it had been forcasting earlier in the week... it will be windy alright but isn't supposed to be so wet. Cloud cover should keep the frost away :)
    Looking forward to it.

Bit of links golf for me tomorrow, popping over to Corballis to check out the new holes.

Have a busy schedule over the coming weeks with the Hilary Society, Portmarnock Links, Royal Dublin, Seapoint, Baltray, The European and Sutton.

    Please behave weather!

Playing tomorrow morning. Hope theres no frost around, recently it seems to be saving itself just for the weekends..

I use accu weather, find it a very good website with hourly break downs.

Rain today really caught me on the hop.

Enjoy F22. A great list of courses, lovely firm fairways i bet with no puddles! how much would I like that now. Seems like a smashing society.

Played in Portmarnock yest in glorious conditions. Most enjoyable round out there Ive had this year. Forecast is for a bit of frost tonight so I'd say I wont head out tomorrow till noon-ish.

There are a few 18 hole opens starting this week or next week. Donabate on Monday, Roganstown next Tuesday, South County next Wednesday.

Is it likely that these courses will still be playing winter rules so handicaps won't change?

I'm on 10 at the moment but want to get down to 9 to play the Portmarnock Links comp.

Then again it would be just nice to get out!

Just show up, you'll be accomodated. Great bunch that play, mostly quite low handicappers and pros but you'll be made feel welcome and enjoy yourself.

Real test of the championship stakes though!

Thanks for that, I'll have to get down there before the end of it. I don't think it would matter playing off 10 or 9 off the back tees, I haven't played since October so I'd be happy to play to 18 at the moment. ;)

I was going to get out today at Donabate but it looks like hail so I think I'll give it a miss again!
