    Hi,
I have a masters in english and a Ba in pedagogics from my home country Sweden (which is in the EU). How do I go about becomming a quallified special needs teacher in Ireland? Can I do my dip if I find a job in a special needs school?

    Would really appreciate some advice.

    Thanks,
    kese

This query would probably do better in the teaching/lecturing forum.

Does your degree qualify you to teach in Sweden? If so, then I'd imagine you'd be qualified here also - best to check with the Teaching Council (www.teachingcouncil.ie).

If not then you would need to do a PGDE/HDip. For Special Needs Education, there is an additional qualification required.
