Hi folks just a quick one here.... Getting married in early August this year and we have all pretty much sorted apart from no Honeymoon is booked yet. Are we leaving it too late or should we hold back on the panic for the moment? ;)

We have no idea where we want to go yet but know kinda exactly what we want... We've a budget of about 5k to spend on it. Want the first week to be luxurious.. in the sun, just to wind down after it all, you know yourself and then the 2nd ten days ( 2 and a half weeks in total probably) seeing a little bit of the world. We were thinking Hawaii then vegas possibly... maybe Dubai & Mauritius.

    what would you guys do??
    Any advice would be welcome.
    Cheers for listening :):)

We went in September and booked in May, so there's no panic just yet, though try and nail down what it is you want to do.

I don't think you'll get 17 days in Dubai and Mauritius for €5k. Both are very expensive. If you do go the "veg out in a luxury hut on a beach" route, go all-inclusive. You pay an extra €100 per person per day to ensure that all food and drink (including alcohol) is paid for. Sounds like a lot, but when you consider that lunch alone without drink might cost €30 a head, it does pay for itself in the long run.

If you want to do Hawaii, consider just doing Hawaii on its own and remember that it's not just off the coast of the USA. Hawaii is further from Vegas, than Vegas is from us. So after you land in Vegas (or LA) following 12+ hours of travelling, you've another 12+ hours to go. Many people break this up by staying in the states for a day or two, but forget about the homeward leg!

Ultimately it's up to you though. If you know what it is you want to do, then you will make it work within your budget.

Travel Agents are seen as leeches these days, but I would strongly advise going with trailfinders, whatever you decide to do. They won't save you much on accomodation, but they will get the flights a hell of a lot cheaper, and it's a load off your mind to have all of your bookings in the one itinerary and to have paid for most of it before you left. The last thing you want to be doing on honeymoon is searching through a big pile of printed-out booking confirmations and worrying about how much money is left on your credit card.

In addition, a travel agent will be able to make suggestions you may not have thought of.
