The Castlemartyr Resort is well know for great food and excellent service. Have been to a few weddings there and cannot complain. Great location for a wedding.

I was at a wedding there over christmas. It is a great Hotel. The only thing that put me of was that after 12:30, all drinks had to be charged to the room.. No cash at all. It got kind of messy and some people ended up having very very large bills to look at the next morning!

yea it seems very good and I was up there again today but they dont seem to budge on the prices they give which I thought they would play ball a little in the current economy..

I wouldnt based my decision on it being stuffy at lunch though as you will be in another place when having the reception

    Hi oxegen85,

I was at a wedding there last August. I thought the food was very average. The food was over-cooked, we had Sea Bass and Guinea Fowl both of which were over cooked and dry and I will agree with Goldigga about the drinks. After 12.30 everything had to be put on the room. To this day I still think they over charged us for the drink thats were put on the room.

It is a beautiful venue but pricy with average food being served 6 out of
    10.

    Cheers,

    M

I went to a wedding there at Christmas, we had beef and it was lovely, definitely not over cooked. We paid cash for drinks until 2am, after that it was a residents bar and drinks were charged to our room. I'm going to another wedding there this summer and I can't wait! Have actually booked 2 extra nights there because we were so impressed with our first visit... DH plans a round of golf and I feel it's my duty to check out the spa! ;)
