Was on 6.1 news tonight....quite good footage of the ERU and Garda vehicles.

They are apparently being deployed in different locations and checpoints throughout Dublin to combat organised crime. Will be on the streets for the next few weeks/months.

They always have been, nothing new really. I saw them last night assisting with a checkpoint.

+1 to this. Show some force, deal with some scum, clean things up a bit. It'll never rid us of problems completely but until the scum take a step up to counter this it'll hopefully have an improvement.

I've never really been a fan of those "TV checkpoints" though. Just get on with the job and stop looking for publicity.

I normally dont allow talk about the ERU but this will be an exception.

Do NOT discuss vehicles, checkpoint locations or anything else of a sensitive nature.

Failure to abide will be dealt with harshly.....yes yes im in that mood.

I'm also with NGA on this one, but I'm in a slightly better mood.

It's good to see a show of strength by AGS like this.

The checkpoint would have been organisied regadless of the TV crews. The people who are carrying out the checkpoints are doing their job, they are not there posing for the cameras.

And the public like to know that we are out their "doing our jobs" and highlighting this goes towards reassuring them.

Well i'm in a foul mood. Those trousers give me jodhpur thighs. Bloody typical. I have the fat day when the cameras turn up. It's, like, so unfair.

Well I doubt that RTE stumbled across the checkpoint. My point was that the checkpoint was obviously a planned one under the new (used before) strategy.
