im thinking of changing my car and a big factor in my decision of car would be the car tax.
I was looking at the skoda fabia and in the brochure I saw that the 1.4 TDI are in Band A at €104 per year...but is this just for 08/09 regs?
I would probably buy second hand if i could but if say i found a 2007 1.4 TDI Fabia...would the tax on this be in around the 300?

Cars registered prior to 01/07/08 are on the old cc-based tax system, cars registered after are on the new CO2-based system. I wouldn't put too much weight on a €200 difference in road tax, annual depreciation on any new car will easily be fifteen times this figure.

Cars registered after 1 Jan 2008 are taxed based on CO2. Prior to that it's based on engine capacity.

Cars registered prior to 1st Jan 2008 are taxed on Capacity.

Cars registered post 1st July 2008 are taxed on emissions.

Cars registered between 1st Jan 2008 and 30th June 2008 can be taxed on which ever system is more advantageous.

    I thank you.....
