Is it a bad sign if a Private seller or Dealer does not provide a pic of the car they are selling, or am I just been paranoid.
I prefer 9 pictures, covering most angles.

a picture tells a thousand words... what are they trying to hide by not showing?

Some private sellers are just lazy/don't have a camera/aren't good with technology, etc - dealers have no such excuse. I find a quick phone call to a private seller will generally tell you whether the car's worth viewing or not.

I dont even consider ad's without pictures. Unless its from a main dealer. I wont travel anywhere to see a car unless i see pictures first. If your able to put an ad online for a car then your able to upload pictures with it, Carzone cbg and autotrader couldnt make it anymore simpler to do so!

I just ignore adverts with no pictures, if the seller cannot be bothered posting a picture of what they are selling then I cannot be bothered looking at their advert. It also gives me an impression of little or no interest which maybe a reflection of how they looked after their car.

I was guilty of that myself on adverts.ie. I put the add up with no pic's as I wasnt home, after i had it up i realised when looking through other add's, that i didnt bother with adds with no pics. So a picture is very usfull when buying or selling.

Not just been paranoid then. Pictures definitely help alot. Just looking at a car on carlist.ie at the mo and its listed as a 2003 but the picture clearly shows a 2002 reg:mad:

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Everybody reading this is able to put up a picture with their online ad. Many in the other 3/4 of the population isn't quite so au-fait with newish technology :)

I wouldn't skip over an ad without pictures necessarily...

I would agree to an extent, it does depend on what your buying though and how rare the item is that you are looking at.

Eg alot of pictures on adverts are simply an image linked from google or something.
If i was buying a car however and i saw an ad for a car in the UK i would demand to see extremely detailed images on the car.

I know there are people out there who are not as tech savvy as us for example. But if you are placing an ad on the net you can expect to get a lot less viewing if there are no pictures. Pictures bring you one step closer to the item you are buying...
