I am assuming that their is a fault somewhere. I have no reception of any RTÉ service or Today FM. Anyone know what happened? The Mount Leinster frequencies are dead also.

We have the same problem in Carlow, South Kildare and East Laois, no rte radio at all.

I checked RTENL and they provide the broadcasting services for Beat and Newstalk which we're getting loud and clear...

Anybody any ideas, nothing on RTE websites...

The 89.6 megahertz frequency in the South East is down due to bad weather. Listeners can retune to longwave 252.

All RTE's mcrowave links to Mt Leinster are down since about 7pm last night.

TVs are rebroadcasting Kippure with bad pictures, unelievably there is no backup for the FMs.

Ah I was wondering why my RTE TV signal was even worse than usual! ;)

Nothing at all on the RTE website about this. It kills me how slow these guys are to update their website about stuff like this. It's like the different branches of RTE just don't communicate.

The funniest thing is that they're announcing on the radio the fact that radio is down!!!

Its like when phoning your ISP because your internet has gone down and hearing that infuriating message "Please check our website..." while on hold!!!

Came back up 10 minutes ago. No doubt in a few hours the website will be updated to tell listeners about the problems they had a few hours ago - in case they didn't realise they had them when they had them.

No, they don't. RTENL are landlords ony.

Beat, NewsTalk and South East Radio all maintain their own equipment there and have separate links to the site.

Beat and SE are microwave, NT is satellite.
