I've recently moved into a new apt and am looking to get hold of some funky/retro pictures, furniture and things to liven the place up. The apt is pretty bare and there is plenty of wall space. I'm pretty open to suggestionrs. I would like some really massive pictures (up to 6ft wide) as I've a few big walls to cover. Any suggestions on where to source such things online or b&m shops are welcome.

I've use Allposters.com to get vintage-y type posters, get them shipped over as is and get them framed over here. Once you've signed up to the website they'll notify you about sales which are always on so hold out if you're buying something big!

Try the Vintage Fair, Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Sun 18 April. How about old movie posters for example? also 1950's, 60's & 70's furniture and lighting: you will find all this and more at the fair. Details on www.VintageIreland.Eu

Reads on Nassau street or Sandyford ind est will print any image onto canvas. It's a very cost effective way of getting some cool artwork but not spend a fortune.

There is also a relatively new shop on Chatham St beside Muji, called A New Space, they sell really funky artwork and its very reasonable.

You could try this place; there's always lots of cool stuff in the window when I walk past.

These people also sell nice 20th century modern antiques at reasonable prices:

Decor on Wexford St is worth a look for type of paintings and prints you describe.

And seeing as you're in D6, there's always Herman Wilkinson in Rathmines which has house clearance auctions every Thursday with viewing on Wednesday. There can be a lot of junk there so go a few weeks in a row to give yourself the best chance of finding a gem.
