Sky Digital Quality on LCD V CRT

At the moment we have the old school standard CRT TV but am going to get a new LCD TV - bigger in size by a fair bit.

Would the Sky Digital picture quality be better on the LCD TV than on the CRT TV, or was Sky Digital originally made for CRT and thus the picture would be better on my older TV?

Is the cable from Sky Digital classifed as a digital cable or an analogue cable?

    Thanks :)

For normal Sky SD broadcasts a CRT set will give a better picture .
If you have HD channels then obviously the LCD picture will be better on those specific channels.
With LCD you will get a bigger picture with more colour but it has a fixed native resolution so it suffers from blockiness and contrast issues.

It also depends on the qaulity of tv you buy.
