Linestage/Phonostage Pre Amp

Hi guys, Im looking to replace the Valve in my pre-amp and after some research believe Ive found a good all rounder. The note near the end says its good for linestage, not so good for phonestage....can anyone explain the difference to me? http://thetubestore.com/tungsol12ax7g.html
