Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Apologies if it's not.
I was just wondering what the cheapest 4 cylinder new car is with the scrappage.
Looking at around a 1 litre.
    Thanks in advance.

It might be too small but the Kia Picanto is one I am currently looking at, the price seems good and it comes with a 7 years warranty.

Don't knock 3 cylinders... I drove a 107 in Paris recently... it was a hoot and sipped the fuel... over 60mpg in Paris!

Fiat Panda 1.1 is 7250 and is a 4 cylinder.

Is there some reason why it has to be 4 cylinder? The Citroen C1 1.0 is 7995 and is a 3 cylinder but has more power than the 1.1 4 cylinder in the Fiat.

i was going to suggest the panda, but really 7 year warranty on the kia, how could you go wrong

The best available is probably a 1.2 Fiat Panda @ €9950.

I drove this one around the mountains in Tuscany a few months ago. Great little yoke!

Thanks for the replies....a year late but I'm still looking.:)
The biggest problem is my local maindealers don't have stock of the cars I want to look at and don't seem bothered about getting them in either.
I have a few I'm thinking about including. I'm put off 3 cylinders because in the past I have found them to be 'chuggy'.
I think I'll check out Panda, Picanto, i10. Also maybe Suzuki Alto and Chevrolet Aveo...although I know nothing about those.
    What about Nissan Pixo?
    Thanks again.

Thanks for that, it's a great list :D
I'm going to think about all of them. Although it would have to be 5 door. I suppose until I go test driving I'm not going to know.

The Panda is probably the most practical boring car of the lot - the doors are very big and easy to get in/out. The boot opening is huge. It get's fantastic reviews. The only thing I found was very poor interior plastics but layout is ok. Extremely light steering with a city mode to make it even lighter? Build quality is probably the best I've seen of a Fiat.

That pic is of the old Ka, which was a sawn off Fiesta with an Anglia engine. The new one is a boringified Fiat 500.
