I have mine a year now and the HRM has packed up. I've changed the batteries despite the fact that they are supposed to last up to 3 years, according to their website. Has anybody experienced similar issues / any suggestions ?

I think a good few people have had problems with the HRM strap, including me. What can happen is that the metal bar that makes contact with the battery can lose its connection, so it doesn't work.

To fix this, take the battery out and you'll see a metal strip that springs out from the side to form part of the battery connection. Bend this out slightly so that it comes a little bit further out. Replace with a new battery and it should work fine.

Be careful bending the metal strip as I'd imagine it would snap quite easily.

(Someone previously posted a link to an article about this - I think it was TFBubendorfer, but I could be mistaken).

That's great to know - I've had mine about 3 months now with no HRM problems, but if something does happen, it's good to know what to look for.
