Thinking of maybe getting a pair to wear on recovery days, during longer runs and when its cold. anyone know if there is a shop in dublin that sells them, would feel much better going in and trying them on than buying over the net guessing.

Does anyone else use anything to help ease their legs after hard days? or is a regular massage the best idea?

just been thinking im saving quite a bit from not drinking due to running and maybe i should re invest some of it on my running

Maybe Elverys or somewhere that caters for rugby players?

Don't quote me on this, but I think I saw them in 53deg North in Blanch.

I use them and find them good for winter running but I thought you were a double hard b@stard who wore shorts all year round??? :D

53 degrees North sell them and seemed to be decent value (c.€70?) at Christmas compared to what shops in Dublin were looking for them a year or so ago. I saved myself a few quid by buying them on ebay early last year but the price differential between online and shops seems to have narrowed since then..

P.s. when trying them on they should feel like a very tight fit (obviously) compared to normal leggings... I'm 12.5 stone, 34" waist and wear a medium in them.

Thanks for this rigal, i think a medium should be fine so.

Have you worn them on the bike?

I don't know if they are exactly the same thing, but Lidl had a sale in running tights/trousers a few weeks ago. i was doing my shop there last night and they still have loads in the clothes section and were selling them off at €5 each.
I just found them online: http://www.eireshop.ie/products/view/5056/Men%E2%80%99sRunningTrousers.html

I wear them regularly and they are great.

Hi, yeah I wore them once or twice in the autumn. I have a slight spare tyre on me so I found them a bit uncomfortable around the waist area while on the bike. You could definitely wear them but I think a bib set up would be better - especially on longer spins.

underarmour better in my opinion;) plus skins meant to be for hot and cold conditions but i find them a little thin for the cold.

thanks for the help guys, picked up a pair in elverys earlier, same price as online with the 15% off.took them for a trial earlier - very impressed so far, maybe it was a first time placebo affect but my muscles felt better from the started the run and felt better than normal after.

Keep us posted on them. Maybe give a reassessment after a few wears.
It's something I was considering also but I think €70 range is a bit expensive...unless they were a huge improvement on not having them!!

Have had the exact same experience with running tights - bought a pair of Cantebury Base Layer a couple of weeks ago and would highly recommend them.

Always thought people that ran in tights were wusses, but after a couple of pre-xmas runs where my legs never warmed up and were sore and achey afterwards, I decided to splash out. Best decision I ever made and the transition back to shorts could be very tough:D
