ps3 to pc connection

Hows it goin folks. I have ps3, dell inspiron 1525, windows vista, 3 mobile broadband and a router of some sort. I have tried endlessly to connect the two. does anyone outthere know how i plug my ethernet cable into my pc and into my ps3 and connect my ps3 to the net. Thank you in advance.....

You need to look at ICS for windows if your broadband connection is via your pc.

I plugged in both into the router and the PC just picked it up automatically.
