    Hi all,

I no longer have a satellite signal on my sky box. I suspect the dish may have got slightly moved in the recent high winds.

The dish is in a very awkward position. I was wondering if there is any way of tuning the box into the new position through the remote or do I have to get up to the dish and try and adjust it manually?

    Cheers,
    Ted.

would you not ring your provider? or is it a free to air dish?

if it's sky or ntl they can talk you through it to re programme it,this can work sometimes but more often than not you'll need an engineer to do it

    there's a year's warantee with sky i know otherwise it's €100 for callout

    NTL dont use dishes.

Sky will charge you over €100 callout. turn off the power to your box for 1 min and then switch back on. if the reboot dont sort it ring a local installer in your area

If you go out into the garden and press services and then select dish adjustments and press select. You can then use the 4 directional keys to move the dish!

    (sorry - couldn't resist that! :P)

Our dish moved in the really strong winds on the 30th December. The dish was pointing straight down at the ground! I had to go up the ladder and rotate the arm upright and then a tad more so that it was pointing slightly up from the horizon and signal/Quality/lock all came back in. This is the second time I've had to do this but this time it was more pronounced. Easy enough to do as long as you've got a ladder, someone to hold and someone who can read the signal reading off of the services page on the sky box screen.
