Facebook: "friends of friends" photo-view

Was just creating a photo album and customised who could see my pictures to filter out the usual suspects. I clicked on "friends of friends" in the customize window. My questions is does this mean that
(a) only friends of the people tagged in my photos can see the pictures?
or
(b) that random friends of friends can type my name and see these pictures? (i.e. friends who are not in blocked customised list)

you have a friend called Dave on FB, all of Dave's friends can now see the album0 -
