I'd imagine he'll have an entry for the irish derby but its not seemingly to be the in thing doing the derby double anymore but instead its normally the epsom derby eclipse king george (possibly) irish champion stakes and then the arc route.

He'll be entered alright but doubt you'll get anything on the double. Bookies rarely put up the Irish Derby until after Epsom. At least that's what I've noticed over the past few years. And besides all that, it'd have to be a shortened price special a particular bookie offered as it'd be a related bet.

Way too many variables to know at this early stage.

The Derby double is tempting from a stud value p.o.v, but say SNA wins at Epsom, with another APOB horse(s) placed. Magnier and the Coolmore boys might decide that the other horse is the one for The Curragh, purely to give him his chance of having 'classic winner' against his name.
Also they want to get a 10F victory against SNAs name as well, so might target the Eclipse which is the week after The Curragh.

He'll definitely be entered (he already is as are all 400+ of the bestbred 3yo colts :)) but much too early to form an opinion as to whether he runs.

And as someone else says you probably won't be able to back it in a double anyway.

Guinees- Derby double, but you might be taking a slight risk as he is not guaranteed to line up in the former with Steinbeck, among others, also in the stable but if he does i cannot see him being beaten

My guess is that he won't run in the irish derby (assuming he wins the english one first), the irish derby gets worse every year with donkeys winning it the last 3 years and being lauded as great horses only to be found out later in the season, i feel the race has been devalued since new approach and sea the stars ducked it, SNA would be much better off in the eclipse or the king george. expect a 50/1 o'brien horse to be placed of course!

Just watched the Ormonde now. He was pouring it on pouring it on at the finish albeit Harris Tweed wasn't suited by the competition for the lead. There could well be a Group 1 there for him this year. King George at Ascot maybe. He could follow in Harbingers footsteps and judging by that turn of foot could possibly match Harbingers performance at Ascot given the chance. He wasn't pulling up after the line either. Another exciting addition to the 2011 flat season!

It was a very good performance but there is obviously much harder tests to come. Harris Tweed is a very good listed performer and thats it. I'd see how he gets on next time out.

Oh definitely. Its just good to see he's back to group level - whether he can go on again is not certain but on that evidence he can win a G2.

Wonder how Passion for Gold will get on today, that'll boost his form if he does.

Only a conditions race but has anyone ever seen a stronger conditions race in their life? Check out the 3.45 Lingfield.

Brilliant to see him back near his best. Really exciting horses this year with So you Think, SNA, Goldikova, Frankel though the fillies bar Goldi look very average. Think Recital is the Derby winner too.
