    I am currently in the process of planning a driving trip from Sligo to Sydney, so far i have just been gathering information on all possible routes, destinations and Visa's. I realise that a carnet du passage is essential. Online i have found a lot of info about getting the carnet if registered in the UK but can anyone provide me with information on getting a carnet du passage in the Republic of Ireland? My insurance company have been no help watsoever. Any information would be much appreciated, Cheers.

    Hi Mongo, I'm looking to do a similar trip from wexford, can you post back here when you find out where to get it from, do you need any companions on the trip, im looking for people to come with me..
    ive been told the rac in the uk can issue one for Ireland

    Do you need one? Very few countries actually require the carnet.. russia doesn't. And China won't let you take a car in either way.

    you can bring a car to china, you have to have chinese tour guide wit you at all times tho
