Anytime I've tried bean burgers they just crumble up! If you cook some beans (chickpea, kidney, etc.) or get them from a tin, whizz them up and just try adding whatever until you get a consistency that you like. Add maybe half an onion with a tin of beans. Some herbs too; not sure what else. It's a bit of fun, even if they break apart
