Question about PCI Satellite card in a computer.

Has anyone had any experience with a PCI card DVB-S PCI Satellite Video Recorder TV Tuner Card like the eBay one I've linked to?

What I really want to know is if you can make all the program changes on the computer screen with the mouse (or keyboard) without having to use the remote? That way I can put the card in a headless XP system (headless meaning no monitor) set up to stream the channel I want over my wireless network to another PC and control that system with Remote Desktop.

Sounds complicated but I have lots of suitable computer hardware and only really want one particular channel available to 2 computers on my network.

Any card I've used allows this. I would imagine that this one would too.

I was just about to submit a post on the same topic.

One additional question I have is whether it is possible to get a (combo?) card that will also allow me to view/record Irish DTT as well as satellite?

Thanks I know it was a dumb question but no way I would have got any sense out of the eBay seller if I'd asked

Not sure on that? The combo cards I have seen (pinnacle 3010ix as an example) have all been combos of Analoge and DVB-T and I've not spotted any DVB-S + DVB-T combo's.

the pinnacle 7010i or the blackgold BGT3540 are suitable combi cards, but very, very rare.
