Dell Warrenty

    I recieved a Dell Vostro 1720 as a xmas pressie, it has a collect and return warrenty. The laptop does not charge, it will only operate in AC power this has been the case since the day I got it? Has anybody else had similar experiences?

    I have been in contact with Dell who sent me out a new lead which did not work. They now want to take my laptop to some depot to test it, which means I will be without it for ten working days effectively two bloody weeks, I think this is unacceptable, does this violate my consumer rights????

    I am a first time Dell user and am extremely annoyed at the level of service given

    Any advise?
