    Hi,
I'm in the process of putting together an online shop selling sports equipment. Do I need to get legal advice in order to create a Terms and Conditions section? Or is there a general template that can be modified and used for this purpose?

    Cheers,
    Peter

    Hi Mirror Ball

Bit of a grey area this one - there's no hard and fast rule as far as I am aware. just protect yourself and ensure that the customer feels secure dealing with you also.

Feel free to have a look at our site re terms and conditions. Another important element is the privacy statement - this is vital if you take and record personal details.
I've built the terms based on some other big sites I liked, taking the best from each and then shaping it to my business and the privacy one is based on teh guidleines from the regulator. www.directebooks.com.

Let me know if you have any other q's re websites, ecommerce etc. i would have liked some advice at this stage of my business too!

Thanks for this. I'd already built a privacy policy on this basis and will try and do the same for T&Cs.
It looks like you've put a lot of work into your site - it looks good.

    Thanks again,
    Peter
