Just received my FREE iPhone 3GS 16GB from Vodafone today :)

Finally can stop worrying about my jailbroken iPhone 3G getting accidently upgraded software from Apple that will lock me out - a present for my wife I think

The contract has been extended to 18 months, but that is ok and I already had the 1 GB data add on for EUR 8.25 per month so my tarrif does not change.

    Go Vodafone

They had a couple of hundred phones that were distributed before Christmas that were unlocked - the guy in Vodafone told me this.

Not sure if this one is unlocked or not, I will get hold of a SIM card from one of the lads using a different network tomorrow sometime and let you know if it works or not.

I called 1800 30 80 20, told them that I was interested in getting an iPhone, they passed my details on to the company doing the distribution for the phone. Distibution company called me back and said that becuase I was due an upgrade the phone was free but my contract was extended to 18 months.

They are only offering 3GS 16Gb in Black

Due an upgrade for what? I assume you have to pay monthly yes? How much you have to pay monthly to get it free?

I have a business plan with 5 phones on it, if you average out the cost per month per phone then we are probably spending in the range of EUR 45 to EUR 65 per phone per month.

I didn't ask about how much you needed to spend per month to qualify for a free phone, when the guy said that I was having one for free I said "Thanks very much!" and hung up before he changed his mind :D

I switched to Vodafone in October and lost my phone at Xmas. As I'm not due an upgrade they won't do anything for me. I've just agreed to buy an Iphone on o2 from someone i know through work. I was planning to get it unlocked and jailbroken etc. If I took it into vodafone do you think they could "vodafone it" for me ie get it working nice and well for vodafone?

They're getting mine in this week, also free with my upgrade.I'm currently paying 68 Euro a month and he is putting me on a plan for 64 Euro a month with 2Gb Internet access included in this.
Also signing an 18 month contract but that's not a problem as I've been with them for 13 years now.
