Is cooked meat from Dunnes ok?

As part of my healthy(er) eating I'm now working on a 1800 cal diet with cardio and some weights. It's going great so far and have lost 3lbs (want to lose 12lb so 9lb to go!!).

I'm just wondering about packets of cooked chicken. I've been trying to ensure I get a good chunk of protein in my diet and I love chicken so I've been buying a lot of cooked chicken in Dunnes. When I cook dinner I use proper chicken breasts on the George Fore but for lunch (in brown pitta) and snacks etc I've been eating Dunnes Chicken Tikka, Lemon and Pepper Chicken, Italian Chicken...I love them, they're super tasty to eat cold and so handy to bring with me in the mornings. Some days I don't even feel like the pitta and I'll eat them out of the packet by themselves :p

So calorie wise they are perfect....the highest is Italian Chicken which is 122 cals per 100g and its a 150g packet......so that's approx 180 cals and 30g of protein from a nice portion of tasty chicken!

Is there anything I should be aware of? I know there is probably high sodium content etc but if they're chicken breast pieces am I ok to keep munching on these everyday? Advice? :D

90% - other ingredients are sodium, maize, then there's different stuff depending on the flavour...

Not being cheeky or sarcy but then its only 90% ok!!!

I know the chicken and it is nice - I am a bit of food nerd and only eat that if I am stuck!!!

What I would recommend is buying raw turkey or chicken breasts and cooking them with spices (will last a few days in the fridge) and eating them - then they are 100% ok :)

But that is me and all depends on what you want...

why exactly? what's so terrible about it that you'd only eat it when stuck?

OP, if you're happy with the cost... eat away!

If you're lifting weights remember that lean tissue is denser, so even if weight goes down slowly, your still losing fat. And that's the important thing. Don't get too obsessed with the scales.
