I think I'll sit out the CX champs, just to give everyone else a chance. :pac:

Might pop along though for fun (and to check out the wheels).

Will hold off making an offer for now, as I need to sort out crank power first...

@quintana2- I'll take the Stryke aerobars at asking presuming they are in good condition and fit 31.8mm (the current model does anyway.) If you can bring to the CX nationals that would be great.

You reckon carbon may not be suitable for supporting groceries? If they can support a person in the TT position I reckon they will do groceries.

@quintana2- I would also have an interest in the disc. No particular interest in the front wheel though and I understand if you want to keep them together.

Exact same position as myself! Let us know if you decide to split up the wheels. Aslo, you couldn't take a couple of quick snaps of the bits...I would really appreciate it. Cheers ;)

Hey there Quintana, what size is the helmet ? I don't know if your head is bigger than mine, your thighs certainly are ! I think I put a few pics of you wearing it on the site over the years (you know who this is no doubt) so although I can see what it looks like its hard to get the size from that. The visor is included isn't it ?

If it fits me, sign me up for it anyway.

Hi quigs size med 54-59cm adjustable, for all your knowledge you'll hardly need to adjust it to the large setting;) should fit you fine. Ihave the visor removed but still have it & the cloth helmet bag. visor may have some scratches but you wont see them when your gritting your teeth and your eyes are almost closed with the pain:) give me a ring or i'll see you at a race or something cheers.
    ps. es wheels sold thanks.

Great, done deal on the Helmet then, I am sure our paths will cross shortly enough but I can call up your general direction at some stage too, you could drop it to Andrew either and I could pick it up from his workplace some lunchtime and give him the cash, he is only down the road from me.Whatever works for you. I have your number so will be in touch.

What split would you do on the front wheel/back wheel? I could be interested in the tri spoke

hi quintana i would be interested in the timetrial bike - would a fella get under 26 mins for a ten miler on it? Theres a fella down here goes fast in timetrials, cuts thru the wind like a knife - i want to beat him this year, beat him with a stick! would this bike do the job?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,995 ✭✭✭✭blorg

You can get under 26 on a standard road bike without aerobars, indeed I know people who have done substantially better than that even on a hilly 10 on said standard road bike.

It's down to the engine not the bike. However a good fitting TT bike will undoubtedly give you a percentage advantage over a standard road bike for whatever level you are at.

The bike won't "do it" for you though, you seem to have things sort of mixed up there!

Hi 00833827, this bike will make you cut through the wind like aknife alright but i dont know if you have the bike control to hold a stick! and handle a bike like this.you might be better of to take a leaf out of lumnen,s book and get a power meter and do a bit of training!!!!!then you might attain your goals for 2010. fell free to have a look at the bike any time
    cheers.

Iam Cammish is still knocking off 21 min 10's in the Old Skool series in the UK.
Colin Sturgess did a 18"50 in 1989 or so, both on standard bikes with no aero bars.

Thanks quintata and thanks all for your helpful advice. I guess the moral of the story is that pointy hats and shaved legs/eyebrows may look fantastic but to do a quick time like 26mins u need talent and some training to boot.

Just had a quick look there and I found the Corima Disc for €777 in CycleSuperStore and £690 (= €777 aswell using todays exchange rate!) on Parker. I presume yours the tubular version is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,183 ✭✭✭Quigs Snr

Still 500 is good for a very lightly used disk when it comes with a tyre and a cassette. Almost half price. I wish I hadn't bought that Renn 575 now otherwise I would have this in a flash.
