Wanting to Hear Domestic Baking/Catering Startup Experiences

I'm planning on doing domestic scale baking from home to bring in some extra money.

I've been doing research and I understand most of the process and steps I need to take with FSAI & HSE etc.

What I'd like, is to hear from anyone who's already started a baking/catering business from home, how you found the process of starting your home baking/catering business with regards to inspections, certifications etc: quick, easy, slow, painful etc.

Is there anyone willing to tell me a little about your experience with starting up a business like this so that I can get an idea of what I'm in for?

    Thanks!
    MandyM
    :)

    Hi Mandy,
I deal with a few small businesses in that area and they seem to have a good relationship with Teagasc

It may be worth your while giving them a call to see can they assist with regards to certification.

    Thanks! Sounds good :)

The idea of starting up your own business, even a very small one, is one thing, but actually going through the process is another! Any advice is welcome to make things easier.
