    My wife has an 98 A Class, water is spitting out of windscreen fan causing steam to fill car/windows?? Any ideas of what is wrong? I know its not the rad as this was only changed a couple of months ago! Appreciated any comments.:confused::confused::confused:

    sounds like your heater matrix (heater core) is gone.
    (think of it as a radiator that hot engine water passes through, the cold air for the heater is run through holes in the matrix and this heats the air up. if the matrix has broken down then engine coolant could be blown through the vents)
    Check your carpets for leaks too, although I'm not sure where the heater matrix is on an A Class, it's probably somewhere weird like under the floor.


    check the coolant level before driving to a garage and keep checking it on the way.

    Does it only spit out water when it's wet outside? The fan on my OH's 98 Civic works fine in dry weather, but when raining outside it drips water into the passenger footwell - no issues when the fan is off. I'm guessing there's a leak somewhere, finding it is another story though...

    Seems fine during fine weather, but if cold steams up windows in no time. Absolutely frustrating!

    as above check the coolant level. if it's low then you're probably looking at a heater matrix.

    Also make sure the heater isn't set to recirculate air as opposed to fresh air.

    hi i am new to boards ie i dont know if i am writing this properly

    i have an aclass mercedes. the back window sprayer pops off water every where
    electrics damage. lock is broken.
    mercedes mecanic told me they pop off all the time. talk to mercedes pottery road. they said theres nothing wrong with the car. bring it in for a diagnosctic
    120 euro and we will modify window sprayer. i told them to f off
    got the lock fix else where 300 euro.
    a month latter it pops off again water every where.
    lock is still working. keep fingers cross
    i would like to know how many MERCEDES ACLASS 150 2007 this happens to
    i would say a lot.
