Looks like a big Fiesta no?
I like the interior, Darth Vader ish
Would like to see more engine specs.

Mark 2 cars should be coming down in price so :D

Its grand, was hoping for better. The rear end is nasty looking though, funny how they disguised those ugly lights by picking a paint the same colour!

Prefer the looks of the saloon oddly, more muscular looking or something

the inside screams (loudly) tacky to me

Saloon has turned into the current Mondeo while the hatch looks like a cross between a Kuga and a Fiesta :S

    +1

the inside screams (loudly) tacky to me

I don't think it would scream, really. It's more likely to breathe heavily, and every time you start it up it will go "what is thy bidding, my master?"

    KHHHHH KHHHHH :D

I'm liking the saloon, but I'm not sure about the hatch. I'll wait to see a 3 dr version before I judge it.

Very much like the present fiesta, nothing great really.
Suppose Fords way of looking at it is why change it.
    Just restyle it a little.

Meh, not impressed really. The focus really has gone down hill in the styling dpet. from day one. The original looked fantastic with nice alloys and a subtle spoiler on the back. But this just doesn't do it for me. I'm disappointed!

We can all say look at the uglyness of it but then we can look at the honda civic and get sick:pac:

Didnt like the looks of the first focus but the 08 facelift model is the nicest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,423 ✭✭✭pburns

Doesn't look as cohesive as the new Astra but I'll wait until I see it in the flesh. Also, the show car looks a bit OTT with candyfloss paintjob, giant wheels and maybe too much chrome. I actually think the production car might turn out a bit more balanced:).

I think it looks briliant and very cool.:P

Some flicker pics of the Focus here.

Verdict: If the Kia ceed and Ford fiesta's mated this would be their obese love child. Interior is ok, air vents are a bit crappy. I'll probably like it in a few years when we are sick of electric cars though. You can't beat the original Focus.

those rear lights are hideous! i agree with a few others, just looks like a big fiesta.

actually.... when i sow the saloon, i thought thats new mondeo!

sallon is really nice from behind, but like some one mentioned allready: those new air vents on front does not do faivors to a new look...

somehow the backside look a bit like volvo.. does anyone else think that?

I think it looks like a Dodge Caliber, which is far from a good thing. The tail lamps on the back are simply ridiculous in size.

    Nope, afraid not.

That looks like the model for the American market, I reckon the European model might be slightly different cosmetically to suit European tastes. Light cluster, grill and bumpers might be slightly different though I think that may apply mostly to the saloon rather than the hatchback which will probably not be sold in the US.

    front of car looks great

the interior is horrible. Absolutely horrendus to be honest. Bad enough that I wouldnt go for a focus again (have an 07 one and am very happy).
From memory it looks like the lexus jeep interior, the air vents anyways.

The exterior is spot on though.

When they are talking about one ford you would have to wonder what they mean.
The current focus is already sharing a high % of common parts with volvo and mazda models from a similar commonality programme.

I only hope that the 20% difference between the yank and euro focus is the dashboard and suspension setup!
On the production line this would be handy to regulate as the dash is fitted as a complete unit, so in a plant in america (or europe or asia) you could swap in a euro or yank dash depending on where the car is destined to end up leaving most other stuff the same.

Interior is not great but then again that is the top of the line interior anyway.

The Saloon looks tasty which is odd for the Saloon Focus because historically it has been butt ugly.

The front of the car looks good. The lips on the front bumper look like that of an A4 Sport. The Chrome surrounds of the fogs look like that taken from a Ford Falcon XR6. The headlights will not be standard anyway most likely rather we will get halogen with the upgrade of Bi-Xenon. The Grille looks like that of a Mazda 3.

The rear is that of a focus(hatchback) except for the large amount of black plastic along the bottom trim. The rear headlights of the hatch on the side profile screams Opel Astra.

It needs black housing for the headlights, sharkfin aerial and chrome accents on the side profile.

Those rear lights are nuts, like someone made a ball of pizza dough, threw it against the back of the car and just traced around the splatter. There's your lights boss.

I was just going to say.. is this not the US ford focus? It seems to fit in more with their current model than it does with ours.

Nope, this Focus is meant to be a global car, like the corolla, the same car is going to be sold in all the major markets

A 3 door 1.6 petrol 180bhp Ecotec turbo with low emmissions could be a contender.

Why would they design a US model to hold Euro-size number plates? It's a global car (again)

I like it. The saloon looks like an E90 imo from the back.
