Hi, I bought a used VW Golf last June. When i bought the car i was told it came with a free service at Tom Hogan Motors. Thats where the car was bought by the person i bought it from.

Is there anywhere i can go to claim this service or is it gone as a result of the company going bust?

    Thanks

    simple answer is no.

The fact that you aren't the person that bought it from Hogans doesn't help either.

As Colm said, the fact that it wasn't you who bought the car from the garage means that you have no contract with them, therefore they aren't obliged to do anything for you.

For others who dealt with Hogans, one of their management is reopening the Toyota franchise at the same location on the N6 in Galway. Probably no good for second hand warranty, but could be useful to those who have newish Toyotas, if you haven't already been looked after by Parsons in Tuam.

Dave Hogan, who ran Tom Hogans, is opening Hogan Motors in Liosban, close to where Motorpark is.

Would they have a phone number yet? Is it open or opening?

I think it's opening on the 15th. they're technically a completely different entity to Tom Hogan Motors. The service offer was would have been given to the customer rather than to the car - these things don't transfer on down the line to subsequent owners.
