Got sky plus in yesterday and it hasn't worked properly yet. Failed recordings basically. After a quick scout there is a problem with the 2nd input line into box. There is no signal and it is saying it's not locked. Is this a problem that i can fix or will i have to get the clowns in again that installed it for me. Cheers for any help

Try unplugging it for a couple of minutes and reboot it, has worked for me in the past.

Have tried it a couple of times, tried tightening the cable but no joy!

Swap the cables input1 to input2 and visa/versa check the signal press services 4 then 6 if you get signal on input2 and not input1 then you have a fault with either dish/lnb or cable. if you have no signal after swapping cables then you have fault with your digibox. Either way get the guys back to rectify it you have 1years warranty with whoever you signed up with.

Ok i swapped cables around and it just came up no satellite signal is being recieved. So box is faulty then it is?

input2 was dodgy (no satellite signal for recording)
    you swapped cables
input1 is now dodgy (no satellite signal for viewing)

So it's the signal via that cable that's wrong, which is either the cable or the LNB.

Have a look at the f connector on the end of the cable, make sure there is none of the braiding touching the core of the cable, and it is screwed on nice and tight.
If its the twin shotgun cable that was used the core can be very fragile so make sure it hasn't bent or snapped off as it wont enter the lnb in port on the box.
If the dish is accessible screw off the cable and check same, replace in free ports of your quad to eliminate a dodgy port.
Who did the install by the way??
Pm me if you don't want to post up here.
