yeah i would like to aswell but for the min im looking to sing,
i have a very strong versatile voice.
I listen and sing pretty much every style of music.
I mostly listen to ambient, electro, hiphop, pop, folk, country, blues, punk, screamo, hardcore, instrumental, experimental punk...and loads of 80s.

what are you a grammar nazi? that rule doesnt even make any sense. you get thrown off for abbreviating? society is not a dictatorship dude, you cant control how people communicate with eachother.
thats the biggest load of nonsense i have ever seen in my life.
ESPECIALLY seen as... unless you havent noticed. we are ONLINE.

    LOL.

The boards.ie mods do have a reputation for being arrogant "nazis" but I think this is a minor offense in the grand scheme of things... txt speek can be annoying.

I'd be well up for something like that Juanchoja. I'm a guitarist that plays some industrial, punk, metal and a little ska. I also use Ableton, for electronic music. Let me know if you or anyone else would be interested.

Thats just some stuff I threw together for college projects

    LOL.
While society isn't a dictatorship, Boards.ie is. If the owners of the site want to control how you communicate, then they will. Boards.ie is theirs to do with as they please.

I don't have a problem with this rule in particular, but this is a bad attitude. If you just explain the rule and give him a good reason to comply, he'll likely to do it and the overall atmosphere would be much better, you wouldn't need to issue warnings. The abusive undertones are pretty obvious - without members you don't have a forum to begin with, show them a bit of respect. If every site says "This is ours to do as we please", where are people going to go to chat without being pushed around?

No site that's open to thousands of people without any major discriminating factor should be a true dictatorship, especially one that makes up the majority of all Irish discussion. It's not going to change any time soon, but you can at least not feel good about it.

And again, you can either give out to me as well, or just take this comment on the chin so things can be relatively peaceful. This is just a bit of advice if you want to make your job easier, unless you enjoy handing out tough sounding warnings, of course. In the same time it took you to write that post, you could have instead written "Please do not use text speak - it is difficult for some people read, makes discussions hard to follow. I would appreciate if you could type full words instead of abbreviations. Thanks!"

This is actual "Moderation". What I did was also moderation - admitting he might have a point about the strictness, but text speak was still uncomfortable. The reason Papa Smut got an aggressive response from armagedonkitten was because of the tone he used, as well as being generally over the top strict. Obviously, this is not the best way to moderate.

    appreciate the very democratic speech.
    and every word is right.
but my general tone was sarcasm.
i thought the lol would have given that one away.
you make it sound like i have something to apologise for.
it was the moderators tone that i would describe as aggressive

Sandvich and armagedonkitten, if you want to debate the moderation of the Bands & Musicians forum then please contact me by PM rather than taking this thread further off-topic. If you have suggestions on how things on this forum can be improved then I would like to hear them.

If you have issues with the moderation of this site in general then you could post in the Feedback forum or contact the admins yourselves. Either way, let's get this thread back to its original purpose.
