Advice re external memory harddrives please

    Perhaps I can get help with this

    Just looking for recommendations for an external memory harddrive, have a lot of photos and music.

    Will it take XP Windows 7?
    possibly a daft question but not sure how they work presume they attach to laptop via USB

    Help please:)
