Better to ask a daft question than do something daft and **** something up.

Lucky it was a boltie., if it had of been a fully auto electric you could be looking at knackered piston by now., :)

    You'll be fine though.,

Well, how many rounds would he have fired on a full auto gun before realising they were not leaving the barrel, or before the impacts pushed out the muzzle block?

You think he'd not cop on before the barrel or pressure filled up? :p

Hmm where Phractal, we need him to make a long inane post about this, then announce that hes going to test the theory on his computer simulator and compare the results to the price of tea in china....

It only takes 1 blocked round to slow down the pistons travel to the front of the box, and by which time the gears have come around to catch up again,., this is what chews it up.,

not to mention, when something is broke, people have an irresistible urge to keep trying it to see what'll happen., :D

Or his mate, who owns a car fixin place, whos a fabricator kinda guy is gonna break down the numbers and tell it to us in Binary. after he figures out how to make the flux capacitor work without needing to travel at 88mph.

    :D

aaah..... 'SCREEEEEEEEEEECCHHHHHH' *'erm, your aeg sounds ****ed.' 'SCREEEEEEEEEEEEECCCHHHH 'yeah i think so too.... perhaps it will slip back into gear? 'SCREEEEEEEEEEECCCHHHHHH SCREE SCREE SCREEEEEEECH' 'mm i think its ****ed'

    Here I am :)

Well, dont most of em safety plugs not have vents in em? I know the one on my mates AK has. but that kinda fits over the flash suppressor rather than IN the barrel.

And Richie... Its me da that owns the place :)

Oh... The 'screechy' noises are what I associate with the gear on the motor being f***ed.

What IS the price of tea in china? LOL.

Anyway I recently realized that getting scientific and theoretical about these things is pointless. Its far more easy and fun to 'just f***ing play the sport and leave the fancy mathematical and sciencey ****e to the Chinese'.

Ahh get out will ya? :P
That screeching noise isn't only associated with the pinion gear being f*cked, it could also be bad motor adjustment, chewed gears, other crap...

Hahahah Ger I am currently stuck at home 'typing out a history project' but actually just reading here. Hey, at least my phone boards.ie dont work... There was a time where I was posting during maths out of sheer boredom!

Bad motor adjustment... Other gears being ****ed... If you hear screeching your doing something wrong... Or somethin is ****ed somewhere :)

You didn't understand the get out bit did you?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 452 ✭✭Phractal

Nope :) (although I am leaving in a few moments if thats what you meant)

Jaysus... I think if I spend much longer in front of this ****ing PC my eyes will turn to mush. Time to head off to the range soon :)

Oops! What am I after startin?I gratefully take on board all that is said but does this mean that those grenade launchers you can get to fit onto the end of the aeg barrel(just remove flash hider and screw on) are a disaster waiting to happen? They rely on the shot bb striking the firing pin of the launcher and in the process disintegrates into airsoft shrapnel!Cant be good.

Hmmm... Post a link to them grenade launchers and Ill take a look tomorrow.

Bye Ger! Have a nice evenin :)

I have one of those rifle grenades and I've never had a problem with it. As people have already said firing a single BB won't really cause problems. So unless you fire on full auto into the grenade I don't really see there being a problem.

And as for the "airsoft shrapnel" theres a chamber in the grenade where all that cr@p collects.

Aahh!Didnt know that-problem solved so.Tell me this,do they upset front balance much?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

they add the weight of the metal grenade to the very tip of your barrel.

    What do you think? :P

I only use it on my M4 and I don't really notice the difference. But it would really depend on the gun your putting it on. It would be a different story if I stuck it on my SPR as its so long and already a little front heavy. So you would notice that weight much more.

There's one glaringly obvious problem here.
Assuming there is actually vents in the plug, the first round fired is going to be chambered and fired, unable to leave the barrel it is now completely blocking the barrel and is held in place by the plug. as i said earlier, if you tried that in FA with an average of 10-13rps you could be looking at chewing up some internals. :)

Ah! How dreadfully silly of me. I did not think of the BB's ruining the gun there, I thought the steadily increasing pressure in barrel or something would **** SOMETHING up. I overlooked the more obvious fact that the barrel being filled up with BB's will do lots-o-damage to the internals.

Congratulations!... you have reached level 8!

You have now gained the skill to come into a topic and repeat what those before you have said.

20000XP required to reach 'No, i know i'm right, i read it on wikipedia' skill!

Ummm... I was merely conceding the fact that I ****ed up - i.e. admitting to my stupidity, repeating what I figured was the right answer solely so somebody could point out any flaw in my thinking :)

To simplify - I was acknowledging my mistake :)

And I would never do the whole 'no i know im right i read it on wikipedia' routine - as:
#1: Wikipedia is not an entirely reliable source of information as it is user created.
#2: Such an attitude pisses people off, and makes one sound silly.
#3: If you happen to be wrong with your "s00p3r 1337 w1k1p3d1a 3xp3r+ 5k1llz" ("super elite wikipedia expert skills", written like the way the idiot who believes everything on Wiki writes it*) you look like even more of a ****in idiot than you already do :)

Now I figure this post of mine can end here.

*footnote: Wiki is not a reliable source of information - but a good reference to find better sources :)
