Turning scrap into money ... fair play to him , it might end up on a wall in a chicago pub rather than a dundalk bin and he'll have six or ten € multiplyed X times it's called being entrepeneureal

Exactly, I think he should be charging a little more actually. $10 wouldn't put any Irish/American off buying it for his wall..

there's the postage of $10 and the plate as well

I remember reading sometime back that someone was selling bottles of Irish fresh air along with instructions on how and where to use it. Most of his customers were American. :D

There is a big market for anything Irish from the Irish communities spread across the globe. That registration plate will probably end up on the wall of a bar somewhere.
Think about it, there is an Irish Bar in every major city & back water.

He saw a market and decided to tap into it, as other posters have said here, anything irish is selling well in places like the US and Canada..

Think I might do the same myself.. ;)

Fair play to him,he has over 500 transactions just looked at the first page of his feedback and he has made over 90 dollars from plates on that page alone.

May not be your cup of tea , but people are obviously willing to buy this and I have to say fair play to the man for doing it. People also laughed at the guy who set up ballygowan.
