Fitting Metal Receiver to M4

    Hi folks,

    Just wondering a couple of things:
    A) Does a Dboys metal receiver fit on a JG M4? I assume that most M4 stuff is interchangable, but am basically wondering how much modification is required
    B) I'm not exactly well versed with the mechanics of Airsoft devices, and was just wondering if it would be within my skill level to install, bearing in mind I'm 100% new to upgrade work.
    C) Is it worth doing? i.e. swapping out plastic for metal...the plastic is nowhere near as high quality as G&G, and doesn't feel as nice so I'd like to...but just factoring in cost, my own ability etc...I'm just wondering if it's actually worth it?

    And finally;
    If I do go ahead with it...any chance of posting some helpful tips (or if anyone lives nearby, helping hand)? Really do appreciate this folks:)

    All the best,
    ~Inari.

    They'll be interchangeable as far as I know. The metal body will be tougher and heavier.
    Seperate the recievers, remove the pistol grip, stock tube, mag catch and the pin above the trigger and the gearbox can be pulled out. Repeat in reverse to put gearbox into the new body.
    As for the upper, remove the handguard and outer barrel then put onto the new one.

    If you need a hand, send me a PM and I'll gladly help you out.

    Its doable but the hole for the rear pin in the gearbox on the JG will usually be a little off line with the hole in the receiver. This can be sorted by either drilling the gearbox one out a little to widen it, (not nearly as drastic as it sounds) or just giving it beans when you are tapping in the recevier pin. the downside to bashing it in is, in some cases it will press out the oposite side of the receiver and crack through the metal instead of playing ball and coming through as its supposed to.

    Another small problem is the hopup, the JG uses the same type as the TM 2 piece hopup wereas the Dboys and most other brands are a single piece L shaped hopup mech. You'll need to buy a single piece one to finish off the job.,:)

    This is what you have already.,

    this is what you need,
