I take it this is in Dublin... can anyone tell me where the capitol is please? I am not all that familiar with the dublin pubs yet but I hope to change that!

    Capitol is on George's Street.

Just some info for people who might not know about the place:

    - It's over 21 usually (If Capitol is the decided venue and an area is reserved, the management will *possibly* be prepared to let younger people, who are over eighteen in.)

    - All cocktails are 5 euro before midnight every night it's open. Extensive cocktail menu as well :)

    - Music tends to usually be current, chart music with some 90's pop thrown in for good measure.

Not everyone is 21. So capitol is out of the question for alot of people.

Can somewhere else be an option?

    Not necessarily.

For the AH Christmas beers, an area was reserved and it was discussed with management that people U21 would be attending. It wasn't an issue, provided the people were over 18.

The Capitol are actually very decent, if they're informed of these things and given notice.

They throw in free bottles of bubbly for groups that have reserved areas too :)

    My suggestions would be :

    - Capitol Bar (George's Street)

    - Solas (Wexford Street)

    - The Village (Wexford Street)

    - The Turk's Head (Temple Bar)

    - Fitzsimon's (Temple Bar)

    - Spy (South William Street)

29th/30th is suitably late in the month. I shall allow myself a couple beers.

Yeah across from Busaras beside Store ST Garda station

Not Radio City now, that place is closed down, this is an all new bar and venue

The Capitol manager is cool, if we got onto him he would most likely make an exception to the Over 21's rule. :) He was cool enough to let me dress as one extremely hot woman in fairness! (See sig for pic)

Have to admit to having a soft spot for Capitol if something could be arranged to get around the 21's thing :)

Same here, 5 euro cocktails are the greatest invention known to man!

So people should pick 5 places and the winner is where we go! :)

    Capitol - No. 1. :)

The last two times I've been to Capitol they've played the the De Burgh version of Africa... for this I can never forgive them!

Thanks for that. Might be nice to get some feedback from them, just so we have some idea of whether U21s will be allowed in or not.

Is Capitol the decided venue then, or should people ring around other places as well? I don't have a problem heading in to any of the places I mentioned to get more information, if needed.

    On an off-topic (possibly) note:

Can everyone please remember that not everyone on here is from Dublin and therefore it would be great if people suggesting places can tell people where they are?! :)

Thanks to pikachucheeks and Silverfish who have already been doing it, it helps a lot!! :)

It's not that simple, in order to google you need to know what city / town the meetup is taking place in as there are many bars / clubs all over Ireland with the same name..

Most seem in favour of the Capitol. Is anyone opposed?

Maybe it should be set as the provisional location now then and if they won't accept under 21's change it? Though I am confident they will, the manager was quite cool! :)

True that! I would imagine they would be happy to have us back there again...we dont cause trouble, drink lots and bring good atmosphere to the room:) As it stands with 21's and over rule, that is the right of the establishment, regardless of the law saying 18+ yet Capitol management have been pretty cool with us so far on that issue:D
